A Seafood Celebration by the Sea
The Osea View Café was buzzing with visitors old and new this past weekend as we hosted our first ever SEAFOOD FESTIVAL on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July, perfectly timed with the spectacular Blackwater Regatta.
Guests soaked up the sunshine and panoramic estuary views while enjoying the freshest local seafood including oysters from the MALDON OYSTER COMPANY, BBQ lobster salads, mussels and chips, and flame-grilled tiger prawns. Local wines from Tuffon Hall and a full café menu added to the feast.

The festival atmosphere peaked on Sunday afternoon, when the GOLDHANGER SHANTY CREW brought the crowds to life with their rousing sea shanties, creating a joyful singalong as the Round the Islands Race passed by.
Families loved the SCAVENGER HUNT hosted by BEACH SCHOOL EXPLORERS, on the sands just outside the café – a perfect activity for little explorers.
The café team were overwhelmed by the incredible turnout and support. One visitor summed it up perfectly on social media: “Great food – and who can resist a singalong o’shanty?”
With sunshine, sailing and sensational seafood, the café’s debut festival was a true celebration of Maldon’s coastal spirit. Thank you to everyone who joined us – we’re already planning the next one!
